Utah Moves Up to 22 in Final College Football Playoff Poll

The Utes moved up two spots in the final College Football Playoff Poll to No. 22. They have been ranked in every College Football Playoff Poll. The Pac-12 had four teams ranked: No. 6 Stanford, No. 15 Oregon, No. 22 Utah, and No. 25 USC. The CFP Committee ranked LSU and and Navy ahead of Utah, where the other two major polls had both behind Utah. Utah did not finish the season strong, but they still had a strong resume, with wins over No. 14 Michigan and No. 15 Oregon, who both finished with the same 9-3 records as Utah.

The New Year's Six bowls were also set.

The Rose Bowl features No. 6 Stanford vs No. 5 Iowa. The Sugar Bowl features No. 16 Oklahoma State vs No. 12 Ole Miss (there is a deal in place which makes the Sugar Bowl have to take these teams). The Fiesta Bowl features No. 8 Notre Dame against No. 7 Ohio State. Finally, the Peach Bowl will feature No. 18 Houston vs No. 9 Florida State. Looking at these games, the Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl are the only really compelling match ups.
