Utah Takes on Hard-luck Huskies in Seattle

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Today's game against the Washington Huskies is little more than a tune-up for the Pac-12 tournament. But Utah needs to show up. Against Washington State, a clearly inferior team to the No. 13 Utes, the visiting Utah team forgot the Cougars were planning to play. Against the Huskies, on the road, Utah needs to close out the regular season in the proper manner, by dispatching the Huskies with impunity.

The last time out, Utah beat Washington 77-56 on the strength of 19 points from Dakarai Tucker and 14 more from Brandon Taylor. This game, however, shouldn't come down to a three-point barrage. This game needs to be about getting the bigs in gear.

Against Washington State, freshman center Jakob Poeltl scored zero points on 0-of-0 shooting. The Austrian 7-footer needs to get far more touches today that a goose egg. Momentum is important in this game, and the Utes need their bigs to have momentum heading into the Pac-12 tournament and the post season as a whole.
