Week 3 of Utah Spring Football Podcast Discussion

We are six practices into spring football for the Utes, and there has been some big news already, and that's the focus of our conversation for this week's podcast.

Our guy Daniel has been to many of the practices, and he has noticed just how well this defense plays together - and they're still missing some key names. Both he and Alex touch on the offense that is now being called by Aaron Roderick. We are seeing the return of the wide receive reverse and sweeps, as well as utilizing Utah's speedsters in the open field. Not only that, but how about the attitude of the offense without Dave Christensen? Some of the players have pointed out how he kept things too conservative and predictable last season.

We also touch on the injury to Troy McCormick. While it is definitely a disappointing turn of events for one of Utah's promising youngsters, we don't think it's a huge setback - listen to the podcast to see why.

Also, the emergence of Chase Hansen has caught some of us by surprise, with him jumping up the depth chart at quarterback. Alex and Daniel gave us their impressions on what they've seen from the returned missionary, and how his mobility has kept him in the conversation. With Hansen moving up, what's the future for the other quarterbacks on roster, namely Brandon Cox and Conner Manning? We discuss what we think may happen with those QB's going into fall, and who may leave.

Give the podcast a watch/listen and then head up to practice at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
