Runnin' Utes have 50/1 odds to win 2016 NCAA Championship

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It was a very good season for Coach Larry Krystkowiak and the Runnin' Utes. Coming off of a Sweet 16 appearance, and with a lot of talent coming back, there is a lot to look forward to with the basketball program. Well, it turns out the Runnin' Utes are getting a little respect from the bookies in Vegas too.

The Bovada released their odds of who they expect to win the 2016 NCAA title a couple days ago, and the Utes are sitting at 50/1 odds to take it all, with a mass of other teams. Now while 50/1 odds aren't amazing, imagine what those odds were just a year ago.

North Carolina leads the pack with 6/1 odds, while defending champion Duke is not far behind at 16/1. It will be interesting to see if the Utes odds change at all if Poeltl leaves for the NBA, and if so how much. Even if he does leave, the core of Brandon Taylor, Dakari Tucker, Jordan Loveridge with Isaiah Wright, Brekkott Chapman and Kyle Kuzma isn't a bad starting point.

Here's a list of all the teams with the best odds to win the championship up to the Utes.

North Carolina 6/1
Kentucky 8/1
Maryland 12/1
Virginia 12/1
