Utah football players ranked in Top-10 in average NFL pay

Want to get to the NFL and get paid? Then you should consider going to the University of Utah to play football. Within the last couple of days, a list came out ranking which schools have the highest average paid players in the NFL, and the Utes came in at #7 overall, and #1 in the Pac-12 with an average salary of almost $3.1 million. Talk about a feather in the recruiting cap for Coach Kyle Whittingham and staff. So, not only are players going to the NFL from Utah, but they are getting to that all important second contract where they really get paid.

Within the last couple of years, a lot of former Utes have gotten some significant pay days with NFL clubs. Alex Smith is obviously at the top of that list, since he signed a really nice extension with the Chiefs. Eric Weddle is another one that scored a big contract, by signing a $40 million deal back in 2011, and is looking for another deal currently. Add on Zane Beadles, Star Lotulelei, Paul Kruger, plus some others, some Utes got paid over the last five to 10 years.
