The Pac-12 Conference has announced the times for each of Utah football's three nonconference games. Utah first takes on Michigan in the second game of their home and home series on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Rice-Eccles Stadium will kick off at 6:30 p.m. MT on FOX Sports 1. Utah won the meeting last year in Michigan Stadium 26-10 in a game with a significant weather delay. The 2015 Michigan Wolverines are led by new coach Jim Harbaugh. The college football world is buzzing about Harbaugh's return to college football after spending four years in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. Even with this game not being televised on an ESPN network, there will be plenty of people watching.
Utah's nonconference schedule is rounded out with a rivalry game at home against Utah State on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. MT on ESPN2. Utah's final nonconference game is at Fresno State on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 PT (8:30 MT) on CBS Sports Network.
The highlight is obviously the Michigan game and Harbaugh's return to college football, but the other two games cannot be discounted. Utah State and Fresno State have both had success recently in the Mountain West conference. Personally, I do not like that all three games kickoff at 6:30 p.m. or later. I always enjoy at least one nonconference game in the early afternoon where Utah blows out the opponent (like the Fresno State game last year and the Weber State game the year before). I do love that there are no FCS opponents on the schedule. Overall, it is just exciting to know the times of the football games. Football season cannot come fast enough, and each tidbit about the upcoming season just makes it feel that much closer.
