Dominique Hatfield Dismissed from Utah Football team

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

In some disappointing news this morning, Kyle Whittingham has dismissed corner back Dominique Hatfield from the football program. Hatfield, a rising star, was slated to be Utah's No. 1 corner going into his junior season. He emerged as a reliable corner last season, when he had to switch from wide receiver  due to number of injuries on the defensive side of the ball.

Here's the release from Utah athletics:

The following statement from Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham will be the only comment at this time regarding defensive back Dominique Hatfield.

"We have developed further concerns about Dominique Hatfield's off-field behavior, and as a result, he has been dismissed from our program."
