Utah's center, Siaosi Aiono, was named to the 2015 Rimington Award Watch list on Wednesday. The award is, of course, given out to the year's best center, after the college football season. Alono anchors an experience offensive line that should protect an experience QB (Travis Wilson), and a Heisman Trophy candidate (Devontae Booker).
Aiono joined Booker (Maxwell), Jared Norris (Bednarik), Tom Hackett (Guy) and Andy Phillips (Groza) on pre-season award watch lists.
Here's an excerpt from the official press release from The U:
Aiono is in his third season as a starter at Utah and his second year at center. Last year he allowed just one sack in 747 regular-season plays and had 15 cuts. Aiono's six cuts against UCLA last year was tied for the team season high.
As you can see from the above clip, Aiono was as reliable of a lineman as Utah had last year, helping lead the Utes to a bowl game, and blasting holes open for Devontae Booker's 1,500 yard season.
