New Satin Red Helmet Unveiled

The Utah equipment staff released a picture of a new satin red helmets with a hint that these will be worn for the Michigan game on Sept. 3. Along with the throwback uniforms, this is the second new uniform piece that has been unveiled for the upcoming 2015 season.

I love the helmets and have been wanting a new variation on the red whether it be chrome, matte, or satin. Utah has really stepped up their uniform game lately. They have the flashy uniforms recruits love that so many other teams in the Pac-12 and around college football have adopted. What I really like about the new uniforms is that they adopt modern design elements (satin in this case) but still have traditional design elements classic to Utah, with the drum and feather logo. Looking at the new helmet, there is no doubt that it belongs to Utah, which is something that cannot always be said for some teams' uniforms. Utah is now up to five different helmets (not including facemask variations or special helmets like the Ute Proud helmet) with the red helmet, the satin red helmet, the black helmet, the white helmet, and the throwback white helmet. One combination I would like to see is the satin red helmet with the throwback red jersey and red pants. It is the classic all red look but with a twist. Utah wore a different uniform combination in every game last year, and I would not be surprised if they did that again this year with all of the great new uniform combinations they have.
