Utah Football unranked in Pre-Season AP Poll

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah football team will open the 2015 season unranked in the AP Poll. The Utes ended the 2014 season in the Top 25 in all the major polls, and they will have to earn their way into the polls to open the 2015 season. If the polls went beyond 25 teams, the Utes would fall at No. 30 in the poll, behind Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.

The Utes do have five teams on their schedule that are ranked in the pre-season with Oregon (7), USC (8), UCLA (13), Arizona State (15) and Arizona (22). The Pac-12 has a sixth team in the poll with Stanford coming in at 21.

If Utah takes care of business in week one, they should inch closer to the top 25.
