Utah football: Is Domo a step closer to reinstatement?

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Who doesn't love cryptic tweets that happen from a player that was recently dismissed from the Utah football program? Well, that's what happened last night, and twitter blew up a little bit for Utah football fans. Dismissed Utah corner back Dominique Hatfield tweeted out the following last night:

Many Utah fans were left in a tizzy as they weren't sure what Hatfield meant when he tweeted out that he was "back." Domo was dismissed from the program just a couple weeks ago due to some off field issues and legal allegations, but Coach Whitt left the door open for reinstatement at Pac-12 Media Days. Coach Whittingham suggested if Domo met certain off field requirements, he could find his way back on the team.

To go along with the above tweet from Hatfield, Amy Donaldson, a writer for the Deseret News, tweeted out the following late last night:

The prevailing theory has been if Domo does get reinstated, he will likely miss the 2015 season and redshirt. However, with this possible news, if Domo can get his ducks in a row this early in fall camp, there is an outside shot we see him suit up against Michigan. With that said, we don't know how many obstacles Hatfield has to clear to get back on the team and what kind of time frame is involved with that. As Donaldson teases in her tweet, there is more info to come, so it will be interesting to see how this saga continues to unfold.
