After a not so great of a start for the Utes by fumbling the opening kickoff, Utah settled in and took a 17-3 lead at half against Fresno State.
Utah's offense has been steady in the first half, by riding the running game with Kendal Thompson at quarterback. Deontae Booker has 95 yards and a touchdown in the half, and is averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Joe Williams has also gotten a good amount of run, with 17 yards on three carries. Utah has 177 total yards in the first half, and has sustained long, methodical drives by picking up 7-of-12 third downs.
Utah on defense has done well against Fresno, and even have a scoop and score by Stevie Tu'ikolovatu. Utah's held FSU to 103 yards and only five first downs in the half.
Andy Phillips also has a field goal on the night, while Tom Hackett has some very nice punts.
Kendal Thompson is playing for Travis Wilson, as Wilson rests his injured shoulder.
