BlockU was at Utah football practice during the media observation period to take it all in. The report is rather brief since it is only a 20-minute observation period, and there are rules on what can and cannot be reported.

None of the quarterbacks really stood out for doing anything great but not made any big mistakes either. Travis Wilson looked the best to me during the media observation. At running back, Devontae Booker made several nice plays during practice.None of the other running backs distinguished themselves. None of the wide receivers or tight ends distinguished themselves to me. On defense, there was some pressure put onto the quarterbacks. According to head coach Kyle Whittingham, Dominique Hatfield looked good in practice. Cornerback Justin Thomas and linebackers coach Justin Ena were both happy to have Hatfield back on the team. One thing that struck me in the interview with Thomas was that he did not want to talk about his Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week winner because he does not want to focus on the past. I love the attitude, and I think having players like him is a huge positive for the Utah football team. Whittingham, Ena, and Thomas all highlighted the play of Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton.

Be sure to check out the interviews with Whittingham, Ena, and Thomas.
