Texas Wide Receiver Jaylen Dixon commits to Utah Football

NCAA Football: Arizona at Utah Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Guy Holiday has been doing work for the Utes, not only with the current crop of receivers, but by getting guys that are going to step in for the likes of Tim Patrick and Cory Butler-Byrd once they move on this off season. A day after getting one deep threat with the commitment of Tyquez Hampton, the Utes got another by receiving the commitment of Jaylen Dixon, a three star rated wide out from Frisco, Texas

Dixon joins his teammate Jason Shelley, his quarterback, in this 2017 recruiting class. The 5-10, 160 pound receiver is a good replacement for Butler-Byrd, and fits into the slot receiver mold. He’ll be joining an emerging corps of pass catchers that are already on the roster, as Raelon Singleton is emerging, as is Tyrone Smith, Demari Simpkins, Siaosi Wilson and others.

Dixon joins the following commits thus far for the 2017 class:

Jason Shelley - QB

John Penisini - DL

Tyquez Hampton - WR

Zyon McCollum - CB

Tristin McCollum - CB
