The Utes have now moved up in all three polls this week, after they moved up to No. 12 from No. 15 in the College Football Poll on Tuesday night after moving up to No. 11 in the AP and Coaches Poll.
The Utes are now joined by five other Pac-12 teams in the latest poll, including Washington, Colorado, USC, Stanford and Washington State. For the Utes, they could have two ranked teams on their schedule (if they make it to the Pac-12 Championship game) with Colorado and probably Washington. It’s an uphill battle, but if Utah wins out, including a Pac-12 Championship they would have a really strong argument with for a playoff spot, which would include wins over multiple ranked teams in the College Football Playoff poll, and a conference title.
With Washington dropping to No. 6, their playoff hopes are strongly in tact, which also means if the Utes get to the Pac-12 Championship Game, they would possibly clinch at least a Rose Bowl appearance.
