Foster Farms Bowl Betting, Line, Etc.

NCAA Football: Utah at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Foster Farms Bowl between No. 19 Utah and Indiana will take place on Wednesday Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. MDT on FOX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The 8-4 Utah Utes, who struggled down the stretch, dropping three out of their final four games are favored by eight points per Bovada against a 6-6 Indiana Hoosiers team looking for their first bowl win since 1991. Despite being more than a touchdown favorite and finishing the season in a disappointing fashion, more than 70% of betters are placing money on the Utes over the Hoosiers.

I see a few reasons for this. One is that Indiana played a weak nonconference schedule, beating Florida International and Ball State, who both finished with losing records. Their best nonconference opponent was Wake Forest, who they lost to at home. On the season, Indiana only beat one bowl team, Maryland, who finished the season 6-6. Another reason is that the Utah Utes are 9-1 in bowl games under head coach Kyle Whittingham, the best bowl record of any head coach. Indiana is also is experiencing some turmoil after head coach Kevin Wilson was let go amid player mistreatment claims.

What do you think of the betting line? Does it surprise you the majority of betters are picking the Utes?
