It appears the No. 5 rated Red Rocks have their future in very good hands with Sabrina Schwab. Schwab was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the third time this season, after scoring a 9.925 on the bars and floor this past week. Schwab played a crucial role in beating Washington this past week, and almost beating UCLA a week ago.
The Red Rocks have actually gotten into quite the groove the past couple of weeks, despite losing to UCLA. Utah actually has climbed from 7 to 5 in the rankings the past couple of weeks, and continue to get stronger every meet.
Here's the top 5 in gymnastics currently:
1 - Oklahoma
2 - Florida
3 - Michigan
4 - Alabama
5 - Utah
Utah now will take on No.12 Stanford on Saturday in Palo Alto, and here are some notes on the series:
Utah leads Stanford 26-6 all-time and has won the last five, but is 0-2
in Maples Pavilion. Utah last competed at Stanford in 2014, a 197.000-196.300 Cardinal win. Utah's current five-meet win streak includes head-to-head wins over the Cardinal in the 2014 and 2015 Pac-12 Championships and two winsat last year's NCAA Championship, as well as a dual meet win in Salt Lake City last year.
