Utah Football Adds 2016 JUCO Running Back

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Utah received a commitment yesterday from late addition 2016 JUCO running back Armand Shyne. Shyne comes to Utah via American River Junior College, the same school that former Utah running back Devontae Booker attended before coming to Utah.

Per Scout's Andrew Gorringe, Shyne will be a very rare 4 to play 3 JUCO player. Gorringe also stated that the 6'0", 200 lb running back rushed for 734 yards and 8 TD's as a freshman last season at American River.

In Spring football, assistant head coach and running backs coach Dennis Erickson told me that the team was looking for a third running back to step up alongside Joe Williams and Troy McCormick. Shyne will players like Marcel Brooks-Brown for that role in fall camp. The Utah coaching staff always seems to pull in at least one player like Shyne around this time of year every year.
