Utah baseball (25-27) became the first Utah men's sports team to a win Pac-12 Championship after defeating Washington 21-7 on Sunday. Because they won the Pac-12, the Utes got an automatic bid to the Oxford Regional in the NCAA Regional. Utah is making their fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2009 (the others were in 1951, 1959 and 1960). The regional is a double-elimination format. The Utes drew the No. 4 seed in the region and today will take on the No. 1 seed and host Ole Miss (43-17). Joining Utah and Ole Miss in the Oxford Regional are American Athletic Conference champion Tulane (39-19) and Boston College (31-20).
Utah will play their first game against Ole Miss today Friday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. CT (6:00 p.m. MT). The game will not be aired on television but can be streamed on ESPN3 and radio coverage provided by ESPN 700.
