Kenneth Ogbe to Transfer

Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

Jon Rothstein at CBS Sports sent out this tweet earlier today indicating Utah forward Kenneth Ogbe will transfer.

There were questions about whether Ogbe would be back with the team after struggling with injuries the past two seasons. There was some talk Ogbe might retire from basketball due to his injury situation. It appears now Ogbe will continue his basketball career, just not with the Utes.

Ogbe was an athletic talent coming out of Germany when he arrived on campus in 2013, and played in 30 of 33 games during the 2013-14 season. He showed flashes in his first season, scoring 12 points against a  no. 25 rated UCLA team. His sophomore season of 2014-15 he started five games and again showed promise averaging 4.5 ppg and 1.4 rpg while shooting 42.9%. He injured his groin in January 2015 and never fully recovered sitting out last season.

Ogbe is the fifth player to transfer from Utah this season joining Brandon Miller, Chris Reyes, Makol Mawien, Isaiah Wright and Brekkot Chapman. With the additional departures of Jakob Poeltl to the NBA and Brandon Taylor graduating, the Runnin' Utes will have a totally new look next season. No word on where Ogbe will transfer but we wish him the best wherever he ends up.
