The Utes Equipment staff (@UtesEquipment on Twitter) unveiled a new helmet stripe for the 2016 season. For the Southern Utah game, Utah will wear the white helmet, crimson jersey, and white pants. This is one of my favorite looks for the Utes, and the new stripe really looks great. You can see the new stripe and the full uniform in the video from @UtesEquipment. Utah first introduced the white-crimson-white look in the 2014 Las Vegas Bowl win over Colorado State. Utah also wore white-crimson-white against Cal last season when the team wore their Neo Throwback uniforms.

The Utes will also checker Rice-Eccles Stadium for the SUU game. The white-crimson-white look ties into the crimson and white checkered stadium theme. Utah opens their 2016 season on Thursday Sept. 1 at 6:00 p.m. MT at Rice-Eccles Stadium against Southern Utah.
