Holy cow! Football season is upon us, as we are now less than a week away from Utah kicking off against Southern Utah to open up the 2016 season, a season I am just itching for.
To prepare for the season, I joined my friend Mark Rogers on his YouTube channel to preview the Utah season, and we chatted about some keys for Utah to reach their goals for the season. We both agree that the goal should be to win the South, and with some question marks on the team, these are the keys for the Utes to finally get over the hump.
1 - The offense needs to step up. That doesn’t mean Utah needs to be a juggernaut, they just need to be a threat, and with the addition of Troy Williams and the swag of the wide receivers, I think that’s possible.
2 - The linebackers need to step up. Losing Gionni Paul and Jared Norris really hurts, but Utah has some talent coming in at linebacker, but they’re unproven. I think there are some good options here, but they will be a question until they prove otherwise. Also, in the video, you can watch me butcher Kavika Luafatasaga’s name!
3 - The last key I had is not to drop the head scratcher. That means Utah can’t lose to Arizona at home this year, which they’ve had a bad habit of doing. If Utah can get that monkey of dropping the bad loss, they’ll be in the driver's seat.
