Utah 2017 quarterback commit Jason Shelley kicked off his senior season at Frisco (Texas) Lone Star with 495 passing yards and five total touchdowns. He led his team to a 62-14 win over Frisco (Texas) Heritage at the Ford Center, the new indoor practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco, Texas, in a nationally televised game on ESPNU. It was part of an eight-team season kickoff for the city of Frisco, Texas. Wide receiver Jaylen Dixon, a teammate of Shelley’s, received an offer from Utah after a huge game with over 200 all-purpose yards. Both Dixon and Shelley are rated as three-star recruits by the 247Sports Composite.
Shelley appeared to injury his hamstring on his first rushing touchdown in the game, but the injury did not slow him down. He rushed for another score in the game and tossed three touchdowns through the air en route to the big win.
