The Utes host the LA schools this week, the only time during the regular season they will see either the Trojans or the Bruins. The Trojans come into the game ranked No. 25, and have beaten a bunch of bad teams, but got thumped by Oregon a couple of weeks ago. The Trojans bring in their fast break, "lob city"mentality, while the Utes are coming off of a split of the Arizona schools last week.
This is a big home stand for the Utes, who resume for post season play is not very good, after the soft non-conference schedule. If they can sweep this home stand, that will go a long way to improving that resume and bumping up the RPI. It'll be interesting to see if Utah can build some confidence in Sedric Barefield, who has struggled shooting the ball the last couple of games. Also, with USC's size and length, David Collette will be key. Lastly, the Utes can't turnover the ball and let USC into the open floor, which is something the Utes have struggled with at time.
GO UTES!
