It was a successful road trip for the Utes, as they swept the Washington schools and did it in convincing fashion. They topped the Huskies by 22 points on Saturday night, after beating the Cougars by 40 on Wednesday. What makes the wins even more impressive is the fact they did it without David Collette, who stayed home due to concussion protocol.
The Utes were extremely efficient on the night as they shot 60% from the floor. Utah shot 7 of 12 from deep, so they were selective with their shot attempts and were aggressive attacking the basket, which is when they're at their best. Utah had three 20+ point scorers on the game Devon Daniels and Lorenzo Bonam each leading the team with 24. Daniels was attacking all game long, and continues to impress as a freshman. Kyle Kuzma also had 22 points but also pitched in 15 rebounds. Only seeing Kuz put up one three is very encouraging, because he's best around the paint and attacking the basket.
After this road sweep, the Utes now take on the Oregon schools, starting with the Ducks on Thursday.
