The Utah Utes (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) will wear a new helmet against the Arizona State Sun Devils (3-3, 2-1 Pac-12). It is the satin red helmet with a new chrome drum and feather logo and chrome helmet stripe. Here are a few different pictures of the new helmet:

I think this is a cool new change to the satin red helmet with the additions of chrome. I have long wanted Utah to wear a red chrome helmet (like the one Louisville has worn the last two years for example). I also think it would have been cool to use a chrome facemask with this helmet instead of black (like the facemask USC had against Utah in 2015). Despite these points, I do like this helmet. I am a big fan of the satin red helmet, and I always enjoy seeing Utah wear it.
One overall thought about the uniforms this season; after not wearing red very much last year, Utah is emphasizing red a lot more this year, which I really like. Including the Arizona State game, Utah has worn a red helmet in four out of seven games so far this season, compared to only once through seven games last season.
