Ole Miss vs. Utah Open Thread

NCAA Basketball: Pac-12 Media Day Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Is anybody awake out there? Bueller? Bueller? What is this, the old Big Monday late games on ESPN2 in 1999? Good lord, a 10:30pm tip off at the beginning of the college basketball season is out of control. Alas, here we are, getting ready to see the Utes take on Ole Miss down in Vegas in a non-conference tournament. Both teams are 3-0, and Ole Miss got that way by beating LA-Lafayette, Eastern Kentucky, and Georgia State. They almost make Utah’s non-con schedule look tough, with Utah having the big win over Missouri a few days ago.

I’m not going to lie, I don’t know much about the Rebels, outside of Marshall Henderson transferring there after transfer from Utah and Texas Tech. What we do want to watch out for is the progression of the team, specifically on offense. Turnovers have been improving, and overall execution is looking better, but we’ll get a better feel for it now that the Utes are on a neutral floor. I love to watch the guard line in these games, because it will be on the guard’s shoulders on how far the Utes go this season.

Well, if you’re not in Vegas, turn on AT&T Sports Net (formally Root Sports), or tune into ESPN700, and let’s get ready for some late night hoops!

Go Utes!
