Today the Utah Utes secured a commitment from Mt. San Jacinto College defensive end Jeremiah Jordan. He chose Utah over Kansas, Louisville, and Washington State. Jordan is 6’ 6”, 240 pounds, giving him elite length and a great frame. He will be signing Wednesday per his commitment Tweet.

Jordan is fast off the edge. I also liked seeing that he was playing on both the strong and weak side (and even inside at defensive tackle) at the junior college level. Despite being listed at 240 pounds, Jordan shows a lot of strength in his film, pushing offensive linemen backwards. He sheds blocks well to make plays in the run game and has a nose for the football. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Utah’s strength and conditioning staff help him add some good weight and help him get even stronger. He has the skills to be a very good defensive lineman in Utah’s scheme.
