4-Star LB Bryant Pirtle Signs with Utah

Utah Athletics

Four-star Pima Community College linebacker Bryant Pirtle Jr. has signed with the Utah Utes in their 2018 recruiting class. Pirtle is a huge get for the Utes, and the ending of his recruitment was a bit interesting since his coach announced his commitment rather than him. The Louisville, Ky. native chose Utah over offers from local schools Kentucky and Louisville in addition to a host of other Power Five programs including Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Washington State among others.

Pirtle will likely play the pass rushing linebacker role in Utah’s defense. He is a terror off the edge and should be able to contribute immediately. With two linebackers graduating in Kavika Luafatasaga and Sunia Tauteoli, getting an instant impact junior college player who can step in and contribute is huge for the Utah defense next season. Pirtle is an early enrollee, so he will have plenty of time with spring and fall camp to get acclimated to the Utah defense.

Welcome to Utah Bryant Pirtle, can’t wait to see you on the field!
