Utah Football Signs S Corrion Ballard

Prior to National Signing Day, Utah already had three players signed and on campus. The first player to sign, and the highest rated is Blinn College four-star safety Corrion Ballard. The 6’ 2.5”, 202 pound safety, who is originally from Humble, Texas, signed with Utah back in December as the top rated junior college safety according to the 247Sports composite ranking.

Ballard will be tasked with replacing All-Pac-12 safety Marcus Williams, who is off to the NFL. Despite having huge shoes to fill, Ballard should step in and be a great player for Utah. He is similar to Williams in that both are centerfield-type safeties. He has good athleticism, instincts, and can lay a big hit. He can read a quarterback’s eyes and break on the ball. All of these things are what you want to see from a safety, especially in Utah’s defense.

Ballard is already on campus and will participate in spring football in about a month and a half.
