The reload of the secondary continues with the signing of three-star composite rated (24/7 Sports) recruit Tareke Lewis out of Riverside Community College. With the losses to the secondary this season, the Utes are pulling in a ton of DBs, and that includes some JC help, where Utah has been so good for so long.
Lewis had offers from Big-12 schools TCU and West Virginia, as well as Oregon State, among others. In his film, Lewis does a great job getting on top of wide receivers and doesn’t give them much space, which is what Utah likes out of their man-to-man coverage. He also has a tremendous ability to make a play on the ball, whether it is coming down with a pick or deflecting the ball, he makes plays.
I’m a big fan of this signing, as he appears to be a JC guy that can jump in and get reps immediately, and in the Pac-12, that’s a big deal.
