No. 4 Utah Competes at Fayetteville Regional Today

The No. 4 Utah Red Rocks are back on the competition floor for the first time since claiming the 2017 Pac-12 Championship when they compete today at the Fayetteville Regional today at 4:00 p.m. CT (3:00 p.m. MT). The Red Rocks are the top seed at the meet that includes No. 9 Denver, No. 16 California, No. 21 Auburn, Arkansas, and Central Michigan. To move on to Nationals a record 42nd-straight on Apr. 14-15 in St. Louis, Mo, the Red Rocks need to place at least second in the meet. There will not be live television coverage of the meet, but live scores and a live video stream are available.

Barnhill Arena is a familiar place for the Red Rocks, they competed in and won the NCAA Regional there in 2014, and co-head coach Tom Farden was an assistant at Arkansas in for one season in 2010 prior to coming to Utah. There will be a familiar face at the meet for the Red Rocks as well, former Red Rock All-American gymnast Corrie Lothrop is a graduate assistant for Auburn.

The Red Rocks competed against and defeated both Denver and California this season. They faced Denver in the quad meet at the Huntsman Center on Friday, Jan. 20, scoring a 197.625. Utah defeated Cal at the Pac-12 Championship, where they posted a season-high 197.925.
