Former Utah offensive tackle Garett Bolles and his son Kingston Bolles are the winners of the 2017 NFL Draft. Was it because Bolles was the first offensive lineman off the board? No. Was it because he became the oldest offensive lineman picked in the first round? No. Was it because he is heading to Denver to block for former Utah running back Devontae Booker in the place where he served his mission? While those are nice storylines, no.
It was because he had the best moment of the draft bringing his four-month-old son, Kingston, onto the stage with him. Both men were sporting sharp looking suits, and it was certainly the cutest moment of the night. Bolles showed the world what a great person and father he is. He really represented the Utah football program well. This night will forever change his and his family’s lives forever and completes Bolles’ journey from troubled youth to first round NFL draft pick. Bolles also took the opportunity to reach out to trouble youths and offer them support. Bolles is a class act, and this moment from the draft perfectly represents the kind of person he is and the kind of Utah football program develops.
Here are the two Bolles men being interviewed by Deion Sanders:
"(The @Broncos can) expect a player with one heckuva chip on his shoulder."
