OT Sam Tevi Selected by Chargers in 6th Round

NFL: Combine Trevor Ruszkowksi-USA TODAY Sports

In their first draft since moving to Los Angeles, the Chargers selected Utah offensive tackle Sam Tevi in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft with pick No. 190. Tevi is the seventh former Utah player drafted so far in the 2017 NFL Draft and the fourth offensive lineman. Utah offensive line coach Jim Harding has done a fantastic job preparing offensive linemen at Utah for a future in the NFL. Tevi is the fifth Utah player drafted on day three.

Tevi came to Utah from Euless (Texas) Trinity and played both offense and defense. He started his career at Utah playing defensive tackle before he made the switch to offensive tackle as a sophomore in 2014. He started at left and right tackle as a junior and senior respectively. Tevi continues the strong draft for Utah offensive linemen and will bring a physical playing style to Los Angeles.
