Utah softball to play Washington in Super Regional

It’s an all Pac-12 showdown in Seattle, as the Utes will travel up there to take on the Huskies in the NCAA Softball Super Regionals. After beating BYU to win the SLC Regional, the Utes earned the right to play Washington, who won the Seattle Regional. It will be a best of three series that will be played Friday to Sunday.

The Utes were swept by the Huskies just a couple of weeks ago here in SLC, in a competitive series. They were thumped in the first game, 12-1, and lost by a run in the next two games. The Utes jumped to 12-1 lead themselves in the final game of the series, before UW rallied to tie and eventually win the game.

Utah is hoping to take an additional step beyond the Super Regionals, where they lost to Florida State a year ago. It’s beneficial to play a team you’re familiar with, and Utah handled their regional pretty well so there’s some momentum on their side.

UtahUtes.com says the opener is Friday night at 9pm on ESPNU, so make sure to stay up and watch the Utes.
