Utah QB commit Jack Tuttle to compete at The Opening, which starts Thursday

After competing at the Elite 11, and making the finals, Utah QB commit Jack Tuttle will be competing at The Opening, which starts on Thursday. Per the Mothership site, SBNation.com, Tuttle will be competing in the 7 on 7 tournament with Team Hyper Strong. Pool play will begin on Sunday afternoon at 1p.m., and going until 8:30p.m.

Team Hyper Strong features Virginia Tech commit Quincy Patterson and Utah commit Jack Tuttle as the quarterbacks, as well as running back and Florida State commit James Cook and wideouts Tommy Bush and Isaah Crocker. The defense has three Florida State commits in linebacker Amari Gainer, defensive backs A.J. Lytton and Asante Samuel Jr. Five-star defensive lineman P.J. Mustipher is also on Team Hyper Strong. The Opening is essentially the all-star event of summer football camps. Per SBNation:

In order to score an invite, recruits must qualify by attending and performing well in one of the numerous regional Nike recruiting camps throughout the spring. The first two days are QB-centric. The best signal-callers in the nation made the cut at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles earlier this month. At The Opening, they receive more unique training. Click here for more.

This is quite an honor for Tuttle, who may end up being the highest touted QB recruit Utah has ever had. He’s been offered from numerous schools across the country, including USC and Alabama, and he’s staying strong with Utah. Stay tuned to Twitter, especially the @SBNRecruiting account, as they’ll be all over the event, since it isn’t going to be televised.
