2018 Utah football commit San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills four-star quarterback Jack Tuttle qualified today for the Opening Final in Beaverton, Ore. from June 28-July 3. Tuttle was one of the best looking quarterbacks at the Elite 11 Final over the weekend and was selected as one of the 12 quarterbacks for the Opening Final. The announcement was made from Bleacher Report, and you can find all 12 quarterbacks invited here.
Tuttle, who is ranked the No. 165 recruit in the country by the 247Sports Composite Ranking, was outstanding in the three days at the Elite 11. He outperformed multiple players that were ranked higher than him. Events like the Elite 11 and the Opening Final are great places for recruits to showcase their skills in front of scouts and offer great opportunities to rise in the rankings.
ESPN.com writer Kyle Bonagura had this to say about Tuttle after the Elite 11 Final:
Utah commit Jack Tuttle didn't enter the Elite 11 finals with as much acclaim as most of the field, but he consistently outperformed some of his more highly-ranked counterparts. He absolutely earned his invitation to The Opening.
Tuttle has a great frame at 6’ 4”, 195 pounds. He throws the ball with a lot of zip and has excellent ball placement. People at the Elite 11 also raved about his focus.
#Utah has a real gem in QB commit Jack Tuttle. Physically was impressive & folks inside Elite 11 were raving about how sharp & focused he is
