Kyle Kuzma followed up a good showing yesterday in the NBA Summer League with a great performance tonight against the Celtics, tallying 31 points. The rookie wasn’t the most efficient shooting, going 12 of 26, but he was 5 of 10 from three point range, a good sign for him, and was 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He also had 9 rebounds, 2 assists and just the 1 turnover. If Kuz can get that shooting percentage over 50%, he’ll be in really good shape moving forward.

Kuzma is a tweener a little bit. He’s a bit tall and a little slow for NBA three men, but also a hair undersize for a four. He could fit the roll of a stretch four in the NBA, as long as his long range shot is consistent. He played well against Jayson Tatum, the 3rd voerall pick in the Draft for the Celtics. I know Utah Jazz and Utes fans have to be happy to see Kuz punish the Celtics, after the whole Hayward fiasco of a few days ago.
Lonzo Ball, the UCLA product, also knotched himself a triple double, bouncing back from a pretty terrible first game. With a guard like Ball, Kuz just has to find openings in the defense, and if he does, he’ll be very successful.
