Utah Picked Fourth in Pac-12 Preseason Poll

The coaches have made their selections and the University of Utah volleyball team has been picked to finish fourth in the Pac -12 Conference standings. The 2017 Pac -12 Preseason Coaches' Poll was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

This fourth place projection marks the highest Pac - 12 Conference preseason coaches' poll ranking for the Utes since becoming a member in 2012. Last year's mark at number eight in last year's preseason poll was Utah's previous high mark.

Washington is the preseason favorite to win the conference title, earning eight of 12 total first-place votes for a total of 113 points. Stanford (3) and Utah (1) were the only other teams to earn a first-place vote in the poll. Stanford (113 points) and Oregon (93) rounded out the top-three in the poll. The Utes earned a total of 88 points in the poll. UCLA (83) came in at No. 5 and USC (71) was picked to finish sixth. Washington State (66), Arizona (51), Colorado (38), Oregon State (33), Cal (23) and Arizona State (15) round out the remainder of teams in the poll.

The Utes received more good news on Wednesday. Senior outside hitter Adora Anae was named to the 14-member All-Pac -12 Volleyball Preseason Team.
