Game Balls Against San Jose State

San Jose State v Utah Photo by George Frey/Getty Images

The Utah Utes remain unbeaten as they blew past San Jose State University for a 54-16 win Saturday night. Without farther ado here are my game balls for week 3:

Offense: Tyler Huntley

Tyler Huntley completed 30 of 43 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns. He’s the first quarterback for the Utes since Brian Johnson in 2008 to have back-to-back 300 yard passing games. His 341 yards passing is almost the most by a Utah quarterback since they joined the Pac-12.

Defense: Marquise Blair

This can honestly go to the entire Utah defense because they really set the tone for the game. As a whole, the defense held San Jose State to just one of 13 on third down conversions and forced five turnovers – scoring 24 points. With that said I’ve got to go with Marquise Blair for raking in a career-high seven tackles in addition to leading the team with two pass breakups.

Special Teams: Boobie Hobbs

Boobie Hobbs is out of this world when it comes to his punt-returning ability. Just five yards shy of 100 return yards and finishing with a career high 95 yards, the senior’s longest of the night was a 43-yard return.

Honorable mention: Mitch Wishnowsky

Mitch Wishnowsky is just showing off now. After a bad snap, he was able to scramble to get a punt off and pin it inside the 15-yard line. Not impressed? He did it with his left foot. The Aussie is just ranking in the style points now and showing the world why he should win the Ray Guy Award … again.
