Utah has a game in the books, and BYU has two in the books. Utah looked rather good in their win over North Dakota, and BYU look bad in their win over Portland State, and much worse in a shutout loss to LSU. With those results in the books, Vegas is rolling out their betting lines, and early on they have Utah as a 2 point dog to BYU, per this site. Now, usually the home team gets 3 points, so essentially this can be thought of as a pick ‘em game, or even a little in Utah’s favor.
Now, my early impressions of BYU are that Utah should win this game, and should win it easily. We’ll dive more into as the week goes along, but what I’ve seen from the Cougs thus far is very unimpressive. Not a lot of speed and athleticism on either side of the ball, and really only one playmaker on offense. With that said, a lot can change, and there are still some questions about Utah that need answered, namely, consistency game-to-game.
What do you think of the opening line? Are you heading to a casino near you to put money on the Utes?
