USC at Utah Open Thread

NCAA Football: Arizona at Utah Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Trojans are in town... that means this stadium is going to be crazy. It’s a battle for the Pac-12 South, as the winner of this game will have the leg up in the race. If USC wins, they will all but clinch the division title, with a soft schedule the rest of the way. With the Utes, they still have Arizona State, Oregon and Colorado on the schedule that could trip them up. So the Utes have the much harder road, but winning tonight will put them on the right road to get there.

Utah is rounding into form after back to back complete games in all three phases of the game. USC has looked good too, but they’ve gotten a bit beat up on the defensive side of the ball. The Utes have to make sure that the wide receivers for USC don’t go crazy, while the running game stays under control. So this game will be on the shoulders of the defensive secondary for Utah.

It’s a huge game, and if you aren’t at Rice-Eccles, join us here!
