Utah’s Uniform Against Oregon

@UtesEquipment (Utes Equipment Twitter account)

For the third year in a row, the Utah Utes will don a handcrafted helmet. In 2016, they wore a black helmet with a hand-painted drum and feather. In 2017, they wore a “Throwing Up the U” hand-painted helmet. Against Oregon today, the Utes will wear a hand-painted helmet that is a tribute to Swoop, Utah’s red-tailed hawk mascot. Feast your eyes on this beauty:

The helmet really is awesome, and I like to see Utah continuing this tradition. Utah has worn hand-painted helmets three times before today, going 3-0, beating the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins in 2016 and the Colorado Buffaloes in 2017. Utah has only once worn red-black-red. It was for the Ute Proud game against the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2015. Utah won and wore a special helmet in that game too.
