Two of University of Utah’s athletes took center stage during Utah’s football game on Saturday – no, it wasn’t anyone from the football team.
Gymnast Missy Reinstadtler and soccer player Madeline Flom were honored at the Utah vs. Oregon football game as the 2018 winners of the Utah Athletes in Service award.

The two were selected based on their outstanding performance in what U Athletic Director Mark Harlan refers to as the 3 C’s: classroom, competition, and community.
Flom is a political science major at the U and she volunteers at the William Christoffersen Salt Lake Veteran’s Home and Salt Lake’s Family Law Clinic. After graduation she hopes to become and attorney.
Reinstadtler is a biology major who plans to become a veterinarian. She volunteers at U-FIT with children with disabilities and their siblings. She also serves at Best Friends Animal Society and the Ronald McDonald House.
