Utah WR Britain Covey Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Utah Utes sophomore wide receiver Britain Covey is an Academic All-District football first team choice, according to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). CoSIDA is a 2,000-member organization made up of individuals from sports public relations professionals from colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. With this honor, Covey now becomes eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Covey is majoring in business and has a 3.85 grade point average. He also gets it done on the field as he leads Utah in receptions (54), yards (603) and yards per game (60.3). He ranks fifth in the Pac-12 in receptions per game (5.4). Covey has led or tied Utah in receiving yards six times this season, including tying his career high with 129 yards against Northern Illinois. He has 988 all-purpose yards (98.8 per game), which includes 114 rushing, 195 punt return and 76 kick return yards, in addition to his receiving yards. Covey, who played quarterback in high school, is 3-for-3 passing for 71 yards and two touchdowns this season.
