After a weak week 12, the slate of games this week are much more interesting. Obviously, for the Utes, the Apple Cup is going to be of most interest for Utah fans. The winner of that game will determine who Utah plays for the right to go to the Rose Bowl in the Pac-12 Championship Game next Friday. Also, some bowl bids are on the line in the Pac-12, with CU taking on Cal, USC taking on Notre Dame, and Arizona taking on Arizona State. It’s do or die for the Buffs, Trojans and Wildcats.
Around the country, there’s Michigan vs Ohio State. Can Michigan finally get a win over the Buckeyes? The game that I’m really excited for is Utah State going up to Boise for the right to play in the Mountain West title game, and for USU the chance to host that title game. USU has won 10 straight since losing to Michigan State on the road in the first game of the season. That game should have plenty of drama around it. Unfortunately, they play at basically the same time Utah takes on BYU.
We could see some madness this week, especially with so many rivalry games going on around the country.
