Pac-12 Championship Game Open Thread: Utah vs. Washington

NCAA Football: Pac-12 Media Day Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Here.

We.

Go.

Utah: Champions of the Pac-12 South

Washington: Champions of the Pac-12 North

It’s what we’ve been waiting for and now it’s here. The Utes are 60 minutes away from claiming their first ever Pac-12 football championship, and punching their ticket to the Rose Bowl on New Years Day. It’s the veteran squad that has been there, against the new comers that are hungry to take the next step. After seven frustrating seasons, where the Utes were in the conference title race most years, and after seasons of coming up short, they are finally where we’ve all wanted them to be.

The Utes and the Huskies are almost mirror images of each other. Both have vaunted, powerful defense that lead the Pac-12 in virtually every category. Both have run based offenses that want to beat you up at the line of scrimmage. Both have experienced, and well regarded head coaches. It’s the matchup that Utah fans have been wanting since the loss in September.

For the Utes, can Jason Shelley guide this team to the Roses against the toughest defense he will face? Can the defense stop Myles Gaskin and make UW one dimensional?

So many questions in this game.

Join us here, for a large chunk of the day, because I know I won’t be able to focus much at work, and chat about the game from now until the confetti falls.

Let's do this.

Go Utes!
