Utah Football Signs 3-star Offensive Guard Marist Talavou

The Utes are adding to the offensive line with the addition of Marist Talavou, a three star rated guard by 24/7 Sports, out of St John Bosco in California. Offensive line will always be a priority every class, and with some of the future losses coming on the line, it is crucial to make sure that there are dudes on campus ready to step in and play when their number is called.

At 6’ 3” and 316 pounds, Talavou is the prototypical guard size, just a compact wrecking ball of blocking, which is exactly what you want out of a guard. In his film, Talavou’s handwork is great, and he’s able to get his hands on defenders and move them with relative ease. Guards don’t have to be the fastest guys out there, like tackles do, but if you have quick, strong hands, that is a major advantage at this position.

Utah did beat out Oregon, ASU and Oklahoma for Talavou.
