If there’s anything Utah can identify, it’s defensive backs and they’ve pulled in three star Lacarea Pleasant-Johnson out of Mountain Pointe in Arizona. The three star DB will be needed depth after this next season, with the likely losses at the defensive back position.
While Pleasant-Johnson doesn’t possess elite speed (4.6-40), in his film, he is a very willing tackler and plays his man really well. Whether it is breaking for a TFL, playing the ball better than the wide receiver, or coming down with an interception, he has a playmaking gene that should fit in naturally with Utah’s aggressive secondary.
Pleasant-Johnson had offers from some big schools, such as Florida, Nebraska, Mizzou and Colorado. What is interesting to me is he shows no offers from his home state schools.
