How to watch UCLA at Utah

NCAA Basketball: Utah at Washington Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Utah fans are seeing some of the best this season from the Utah Runnin’ Utes. Will their win-streak continue as the Utes wrap up Pac - 12 play at home? Let’s hope so.

The Runnin’ Utes return to Salt Lake City for a three-game home stand this week. They open up hosting the UCLA Bruins on Thursday, February 22 at the Huntsman Center.

The Utes have been impressive lately and seem to have found their niche. The team is coming off of a pair of victories at Washington State and Washington. Before that, the Utes beat both Oregon schools. Utah is now the only Pac - 12 team to earn a weekly road sweep for the second time this season.

Scoring hasn’t been an issue for the Utes the past couple of games. The last time out against Washington State, three Utes finished in double-digits. Lead by Justin Bibbins, the senior guard closed the game with 24 points, which included 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Gabe Bealer tied a career-high with six three-pointers and finished the game with 18 points - just two points shy of his career-high. Tyler Rawson poured in 15 points and pulled down a career-high 15 boards for this second straight double-double.

Let’s hope the Utes bring their best on Thursday because the series history doesn’t go in their favor. UCLA has won two-straight, including that 83-82 heartbreaker over the Utes last season.

More about UCLA from UtahUtes.com:

The Bruins are coming off wins over both Oregon schools this past weekend, having downed Oregon State, 75-68, and Oregon, 86-78. The Bruins lost an 11-point lead against the Ducks and then needed overtime to win, but in doing so, UCLA managed to split the season series against Oregon. UCLA has now won two straight and six of its last seven games dating back to Jan. 25. The Bruins opened Pac-12 play with a 4-1 record, but then dropped three straight midway into the conference slate.

While owning a 14-2 home record, the Bruins are just 2-5 overall in road games this season (2-4 in Pac-12 road games) ... UCLA ranks first in the Pac-12 with 1,054 total rebounds and first with a 39.04 rebounds per game average ... UCLA’s 82.6 points per game average ranks second in the league, but the Bruins are averaging more points in road games this season, having scored 84.3 points in seven road games this season ... Despite the high offensive output, UCLA gives up 76.0 points to opposing teams, which ranks 10th in the league ... Thomas Welsh leads the Pac-12 and ranks ninth in the nation with 8.0 defensive rebounds per game ... His 10.7 total rebounds per game average ranks second in the league and 13th in the nation ... Aaron Holiday averages 19.4 points on the season, but that number is larger in Pac-12 games, scoring 20.9 points per league game.
